However, Netflix tried to give a quick answer to the speculations and confirmed the renewal of Wandinha. The platform had even already established an agreement with MGM before the acquisition by Amazon.
Recently, series creators Al Gough and Miles Millar discussed the future of the story in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter. They see an opportunity to work more on Wandinha’s relationships with those closest to her, such as her friend Enid (Emma Myers) and her mother Morticia (Catherine Zeta-Jones).
“We want to kind of explore and kind of complicate all of these relationships going forward. The school was closed when they left, which gave us more possibilities for season two, and I think that’s something we’re really looking forward to exploring. For us, the show is also about this female friendship, with Wandinha and Enid really being at the heart of it,” Gough said.
More information and details about the second season of Wandinha will still be shared soon. The series is a spin-off of The Addams family, centered on the daughter of Morticia and Gomez, played by actress Jenna Ortega. The first season is currently available on Netflix.
