In pre-season, Palmeiras will go on a double trip of training matches on Saturday

Palmeiras are going through a pre-season period in preparation for the start of the 2023 disputes. Ahead of their official debut on the year, which will take place on 14 January, a Paulistan, the club promotes training games to prepare the athletes to go. This Saturday, the trip will be double with two duels at the Academia de Futebol: against São José (10h) and against Desportivo Brasil (16h).

Since 2 January, Verdão is in its third stage of the pre-season. The first two took place in December, first with a physical training booklet prepared by the Health and Performance Center and then with virtual activities monitored remotely by club professionals. Thus, players had more time to spend with their families.

The football department’s aim was for these early stages to leave the team ready for tactical and technical activities on the pitch as soon as they returned to the Football Academy. These days the players have worked in two periods and remain in CT from morning to evening, eating all their meals and resting between workouts.

There is such confidence in the team’s physical condition that two training matches are scheduled for this Saturday against São José (10 am) and against Desportivo Brasil (4 pm). If the coaching staff follows what was done against Suzano last Thursday, three different teams will be used throughout the match, mixing reserves, starters and under 17 “reinforcements”. Alviverde won the match 3-1.

Check out the squads used by Abel Ferreira last Thursday:

First half lineup: Marcello Lomba; Marcos Rocha, Naves, Murilo and Kauan Vitor (under 17); Gabriele Menino, Danilo and Bruno Tabata; Young, Flaco López and Breno Lopes

Second half lineup: Marcelo Lomba (Vinicius joined midway through the business); Garcia, Gómez, Vitor Reis (under 17) and Piquerez; Jailson, Atuesta and John John; Dudu, Rony and Rafael Navarro.

Third half formation: Vinicius; Mayke, Kuscevic, Luan and Vanderlan; Fabinho, Zé Rafael and Raphael Veiga; Riquelme Fillipi (under 17), Endrick and Merentiel.

Verdão’s training schedule doesn’t stop there. Next Tuesday the team will play again a double day of tests: first against Audax (10 am) and then against Monte Azul (4 pm). Both will take place at the Allianz Parque, the second with the presence of just over four thousand subscribers-fans who will test the facial recognition system for accessing the stadium.
