Torcida hermana even created a public petition for Julián Álvarez to separate from Emilia Ferrero
Forward Julián Álvarez was one of Argentina’s highlights as they won their third world championship in Qatar. He started the competition as a substitute but earned the spot from Lautaro Martinez and quickly joined Lionel Messi. However, Argentine fans are not satisfied with an off-field choice by the young Manchester City player and want him to break with Emilia Ferrero.
The brothers even created a public petition, which has more than 20,000 signatures, asking Álvarez to end his relationship with the hockey player and PE teacher.
The campaign began after a video posted on social media allegedly showed Ferrero alienating fans from her boyfriend in Calchín, the couple’s hometown. The group consisted mainly of children and adolescents.
“Julián, break up with Mary Jane” is the name of the digital campaign created against the relationship. The attacker’s name is Spider, which explains the nickname Mary Jane, the name of the character’s girlfriend in the comics.
The two are childhood friends and have been together since 2017. Ferrero apologized on social media and specified that the goal was only to organize a group photo, not to prevent her boyfriend from contacting fans.
