Earl Boen, the actor best known for playing criminal psychologist Peter Silberman in the ‘Terminator’ film series, died on Thursday at the age of 81. The information was confirmed by Boen’s daughter Ruby Harbin when The Hollywood Reporter.
Also according to Harbin, the father discovered lung cancer in November last year. According to her, he died peacefully in his sleep.
Boen was best known for his role in James Cameron’s series ‘Terminator’ where he starred alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger (Terminator) and Michael Biehn (Kyle Reese). He participated in the first production, in 1984, and reprized the character in “Terminator 2: Judgment Day” (1991) and “Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines” (2003).
“He was a wonderful actor and it was always fun to have him,” Biehn told THR, adding that Cameron “cast Earl [para o papel de psicólogo] because it was special.”
The actor’s curriculum still includes: “Mercenários das Galáxias” (1980), “The Erotic Doctor or Erotic Doctor” (1983), “Run because the police are coming – The final insult” (1994) and “The Mad Professor 2 The Klumps” (2000). On television, he made guest appearances on such shows as the 1985 sitcom “Supergatas” and 1984’s “Who’s the Boss?”
After retiring from the screen in 2003, he continued to work as a voice actor in radio, animated series and video games. In this environment, his credits are in films such as “Clifford: The Giant Red Dog”, from 2021, and “Kim Possible”, animated series from 2002.
In addition to his daughter, Boen is survived by his second wife, Cathy, and grandchildren Kimmy and Kimo.
