The former player was being treated for intestinal cancer
The greatest idol in the history of Vasco, Roberto Dinamite died this Sunday, aged 8, at the age of 68. The former player was hospitalized for treatment for intestinal cancer.
In December 2021, Dinamite had to have non-invasive surgery to free his intestines. In January of last year, the former number 10 decided to go public with his fight and revealed that he had been diagnosed with cancer while he was hospitalized.
In April, Dinamite inaugurated his statue in São Januário, with nearly three thousand fans in attendance. The event was also attended by several personalities from the world of football, such as Zico and Júnior.
