After leaving for the fifth episode of Season 10, Jesse Spencer (Matt Casey) will return to the Chicago Fire for the season finale. The show’s iconic character from the pilot onwards, the firefighter left Chicago to care for Andy Darden, his best friend, who died.
Jesse Spencer explained last year that he felt the need to escape the small screen in order to devote time to himself and his family. Between his roles in Dr. House and the Chicago Fire, the actor has spent the last 18 years on the air.
To bring him back in the episode, the series’ co-star Derek Haas was ready for anything: “But he is the best and he was before we started begging him” she said TV line.

For the finale of the 10th season of Chicago Fire, which aired on NBC on May 25, Matt Casey will fulfill his vow with Kelly Severid (Taylor Keane) and witness his wedding. The former 51st Barracks firefighter will also return when his relationship with partner Sylvie Brett (Cara Kilmer) is crucial. Will the couple be separated forever?
The return of Jesse Spencer to the episode might close the intrigues that still relate to his character. What will happen at the wedding? Will he end his relationship with Sylvie? Does this short comeback mean his real departure from the series?
While TF1 has just started broadcasting the first season of Chicago Fire on Wednesday night, the 10th season will soon be available on 13ème Rue.
The first seven seasons of the series are available on the Prime Video platform.
