Netflix exclusively reveals the first photos and an online date for Dangerous Liaisons’s new sequel, the Choderlos de Laclos classic. The film stars influencer and actress Paola Locatelli.
Dangerous relationships Is a classic of French literature that has been repeatedly adapted for film and television. Choderlos de Laclos’s epistolary novel was screened by Roger Vadim, Stephen Frears, but also by Milos Forman, and in the late 1990s was awarded the rights to a teenage pop version with Roger Coomble’s sexual intentions.
Today, Netflix captures the literary monument with version 2.0 of Les Liaisons Dangereuses, written and directed by Rachel Suisa, for whom this is her first work. The screenplay, written in collaboration with Sliman-Baptist Berhun, takes the main plot of Choderlos de Laclos’s epistolary novel to the present day in the age of social networks.
We follow the story of Selen, a 17-year-old young idealist who believes in absolute love and is more interested in reading than social media. Leaving Paris for Biarritz, she prepares to live for some time with her fiancé, away from Pierre.
Very quickly, he confronts the insidious elite of his new high school, ruled by the former big screen star and Instagram queen Vanessa and the famous surfer Tristan, just as dangerous as the seductive. When he falls in love, Selen has no doubt that he is at the center of a fierce bet between Tristan and Vanessa. How far will they go?
Producer Eleanor Dale and Edouard de Lashometti, along with Autopilot Entertainment LLC, will introduce these new dangerous connections to a cast of young talent, including influential Paola Locatelli (also in the cast of Chair Tendre, soon on Francetv slash and awarded Best French Man Series. In), who plays Selen and Simon Rroll (Girlsquad), who plays Tristan. In Christophe’s Skin we also meet Alex Michalik (directed by Edmond).
Technically, Giovanni Fiore Coltelacci (Cloclo, under the skirts of the girls, Edmond) is the director of photography, while Julien Ray (Anna, the wolf and the lion) is the editor. Music by Clement Dumoulin (Killers, Forte).
Exclusively, Netflix will reveal the transfer date and the first visuals of this new adaptation of Dangerous Connections. The film is set to be part of the summer romance for teens, which is a hit on the platform as it will be released on July 8th.
