Amazon Prime Video has released a new poster and trailer for the second and final season of the series “Carnival Row,” which depicts a final conflict between humans and fairytale creatures. With many visual effects, the scenes highlight the attacks of flying fairies, such as the character played by Cara Delevingne (“Suicide Squad”).
The plot takes place in a Victorian fantasy world, in a stylized 19th century, where magical creatures are real, but suffer discrimination from humans, living as exiled immigrants in the ghettos of big cities.
Orlando Bloom (“Pirates of the Caribbean”) plays a former human detective who falls in love with the fairy played by Delevingne and begins living among refugees. The two also produce the series, created by Travis Beacham (“Pacific Rim”) and René Echevarria (who also created “The 4400”).
The cast also includes actors Simon McBurney (“The Conjuring 2”), Arty Froushan (“House of the Dragon”), Jay Ali (“Daredevil”), David Gyasi (“Interstellar”) and Tamzin Merchant (“Salem”) , among others.
The new chapters will air approximately three and a half years after the attraction’s debut in August 2019.
The production suffered a long delay due to the interruption of all activities in Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic where the story is being filmed, during the covid-19 pandemic. Work had already begun when the lockdown was decreed in March 2020. With that, the entire team demobilized, returning to the US and UK.
The recordings resumed only after three months and ended in September of last year. Since then, the team has been working in post-production.
The premiere will take place on 17 February.
