Actor Mike Colter, who played hero Luke Cage in Netflix’s Marvel series from 2015 to 2018, recently said he’d be open to returning to the role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, though he doesn’t think that’s likely to happen.
In an interview with ComicBook.com, Colter shared that he doesn’t think much about returning to the character. “It’s one of those things that’s in the rearview mirror at this point,” she said. “If I somehow get a call, my dance card is half full.” He made it clear, however, that he enjoyed the role and that he would return if his schedule allowed. “But if I get a call, something happens, great. I enjoyed it,” he said.
On the other hand, Colter has stated that he wouldn’t mind if Marvel chose to put another actor in his place to live up to the MCU’s Luke Cage. “I’d be happy, more than happy, to let someone else take that mantle or that role,” he said. “This character has been around for a long time. Fans will have this character one way or another for the rest of their lives, and I’m glad I was a part of that for these guys.”
