Netflix has turned the page and announced the cancellation of “Department of Conspiracies” (Inside Job), after renewing the animated series for new episodes. Created by Alex Hirsch, responsible for the success of ‘Gravity Falls’, the series had its Part 2 available last November.
The production accompanied the work of Cognito, a division of the US Department of Conspiracies formed by the few humans who know that reptilian aliens exist, but the moon landing was fake. Led by Reagan Ridley, an antisocial scientist who must fight her desire for world domination, Cognito is dedicated to keeping the truth secret through the creation of conspiracies.
The voice cast was led by Lizzy Caplan (“Masters of Sex”) as Reagan, Christian Slater (“Mr. Robot”) as his father, and also includes Clark Duke (“Greek”), Tisha Campbell ( “Dr. Ken ” ), Chris Diamantopoulos (“Made for Love”) and Brett Gelman (“Stranger Things”).
The cancellation was announced via a tweet from co-creator Shion Takeuchi.
“I am heartbroken to confirm that Netflix has decided to cancel ‘Departments of Conspiracies.’ Over the years, these characters have become real people to me, and I am devastated not to be able to watch them grow. […] Reagan and Brett deserved to break up [a história] and finally find happiness.”
