Couple from the Parisian team enter the field with jerseys in honor of the King
Neymar, Messi and the PSG squad paid tribute to Pelé ahead of Wednesday’s French league match against Angers. The duo took to the field as starters in the match at the Parque dos Príncipes and, together with the entire cast, took to the field in a white T-shirt with the image of the King’s face, with the phrase “Pelé Eterno”.
This is Messi’s first match after his world title and also Pele’s death. Neymar makes his first match since the king’s death. The Brazilian was unable to attend the vigil in Vila Belmiro to continue training with Paris Saint-Germain.
Before kick-off, fans and players cheered for a minute in the stadium to honor the Brazilian icon. Pelé died on December 29 at the Albert Einstein hospital in São Paulo.
