Jovem Pan speaks out after being hacked

Jovem Pan News YouTube account was hacked last night. The action changed the channel name to Tesla Event and made some content changes, all of which have since been reversed.

The company commented on the incident through a statement published on Wednesday (11/1) on social networks. In the note, the broadcaster regrets the episode and underlines that it has called the authorities to investigate the crime.

“Jovempan experienced an invasion of its YouTube channels late on Tuesday night, January 10; the broadcaster’s technology team and YouTube’s security team are still investigating the conditions leading up to the attack and the extent of the damage,” says Nota.

“Once the vulnerability was discovered, the issuer notified the platform and took the necessary measures, including reporting the incident to the authorities,” the text reads.

Jovem Pan stressed that the criminals have tried to undermine the broadcaster’s credibility and have even shown solidarity with other companies that have suffered similar attacks recently. “We regret that Jovem Pan, and other broadcasters in recent episodes, are targets of criminals who seek to destabilize the credibility of the press media”, concludes the text.

The attack is still being investigated by the media company’s technology team and Google’s video platform security team.
