IBGE data indicates that November 2022 increased by 6.3% compared to the same month in 2021
RIO – The volume of Services supply remained stable in November compared to October, in the seasonally adjusted series, according to data from the Monthly Survey of Services, of Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE)released this Thursday 12. With that, the sector hits two months of no growth – there was a 0.5% decline in October, capping a streak of seven consecutive months with no losses, from March to September, a period in which the sector amassed a 5.8% gain.
“November’s result can be read as a loss of breath compared to the advances recorded in previous months. It is worth mentioning that from March to September, the index accumulated growth of 5.8%. It is still too early to say whether are facing a turning point. In any case, it is important to note that the main pillars that have shown dynamism and helped the index reach its all-time high, the information technology and freight transport sectors, have had a deceleration in their growth”, underlines the research analyst, Luiz Almeida, in a note from the IBGE.
With the November result, the sector is operating 10.7% above the pre-pandemic level, recorded in February 2020. Furthermore, the segment is operating 0.5% below the record level reached in September 2022 .

The data for November 2022, published this Thursday, indicate an increase of 6.3% compared to the same month in 2021, already discounting the effect of inflation.
The cumulative rate for the year – which is based on the same period last year – was up 8.5%. The cumulative result for the 12 months shows an increase of 8.7%, compared to an increase of 9.0% up to October.
Nominal gross revenues from the services sector decreased 0.2% in November compared to October. Compared to November 2021, there was a 12.0% increase in nominal revenue.
