This is the first increase in two years.
After the changes involving HBO Max and Discovery+, the platform will undergo a value adjustment. According to Variety, this price increase will, at first, only occur in the United States and will be the first in two years of streaming. Discovery bought WarnerMedia in 2022 and this has generated a number of impacts on the previous structure, such as budget cuts and catalog changes.
The subscription for Americans was US$14.99 and will increase to US$15.99.
According to the press release released by the company, the increase aims to invest in better and more structured productions.
“This one-dollar increase will allow us to continue investing in providing even more culturally accurate programming and improving the customer experience for all users.”
