Starting Palmeiras in the club’s first game of the 2023 season, and first after his sale to Real Madrid – he will only go to the Spanish club in July 2024 -, Endrick played the majority of the goalless draw against São Bento, this Saturday, at the Allianz Parque stadium, in Sao Paulo, for the opening match of the Campeonato Paulista. The 16-year-old forward admitted he didn’t perform well on the pitch and promised he will improve.
“I always want to play, I have to give more, I don’t think I did well in the match. I have to work to help my teammates more, God willing we will do a lot this season,” Endrick said in an interview with the channel firsthe rushed to escape the rain that began to fall after the game ended.
The boy also commented that he intends to take every chance he has, whatever his position. “I thank God for the opportunity I have. There are no starters at Palmeiras and whoever plays will do everything. Whatever Professor Abel (Ferreira) asks me, I will try to do it. Of course, there are positions that I like best, but I want to be helpful and I feel comfortable and I thank my teammates for their advice,” he said.
Endrick concluded by saying that he wants to play and have fun on the pitch. “I came in to have fun, my greatest fun is playing football. It doesn’t matter if I’m 16 or 36, I want to have fun.”
