During the Golden Globes 2023, Ke Huy Quan, interpreter of Dado, commented behind the scenes of The Goonies
One of the great classics of cinema in the 1980s, The Goonies it was a public and critical success, but it never won a sequel, even with fan support and several script versions for the second film. Now, Ke Huy Quaninterpreter of Given awayrevealed the reason for this to happen.
Quan spoke about this subject during an interview in the press room of the Golden Globe (via indiewire) after winning in the category Best Supporting Actor in Filmin recognition of the role of waymond wang in Everything Everywhere at the Same Time (2022).
“We had several scripts, but there wasn’t one that I felt could match what the original was,” stated the actor in conversation “Unfortunately, we lost the captain of our ship, [diretor] Richard Donnerand I really don’t know if there will be one Goonies 2but would love to revisit the character of Dado if there’s an opportunity.”
