‘La Ruta’: We tell you everything about the series that deals with the years of the bakalao in Valencia

The ATRESplayer PREMIUM catalog continues adding projects. Added to the long list are ‘The Gypsy Bride’, ‘Two Years and a Day’, ‘Don’t tell anyone’, ‘Camilo Superstar’, ‘UPA Next’, ‘Dressed in Blue’ and many others. And this 2022 will come ‘The route’. Produced by Atresmedia Televisión in collaboration with Caballo Films, the series was presented to the media last year in Valencia, where it is currently shooting both outdoors and indoors.

‘La Ruta’: Filming the recreation of the 80s and 90s

The new series is being shot in outdoor and indoor natural settings in the Valencian Community. At the time of being able to carry out the project, ‘La Ruta’ has had an exhaustive localization work so that the viewer also experiences that return to the Valencia of the 80s and 90s. In the series some of the most important nightclubs of the time, such as Puzzle, Espiral, NOD, ACTV, Spook, Barraca or Chocolate.

In all of them there has been an arduous mission to achieve a faithful reflection of those years. Several of these clubs are still open today, such as Spook or Barraca, and others have modified their facilities. However, for all of them a plan has been investigated and drawn up to reproduce the period reliably.

The project has Montse Garcia, Edward Villanueva Y nacho lavilla as executive producers. It is created by Borja Soler and Roberto Martín Maiztegui. The writing team is made up of Borja Soler, Roberto Martín Maiztegui, Clara Botas and Silvia Herreros de Tejada. The address is provided by Borja Soler (producer of ‘Stockholm’), Belen Funes (‘The daughter of a thief’) and Carlos Marques-Marcet (‘10,000 km’, ‘The days to come’).

‘The Route’ Synopsis

‘The Route’ is a coming-of-age in Valencia during the years of the bakalao. The story focuses on the journey of some friends from Sueca, from their farewell in a crowded Ruta Destroy, in 1993, to go back throughout the plot until the day they entered Barraca for the first time, in 1981, when both they like the party still retained their innocence. Marc, Toni, Nuria and Lucas go from innocence to maturity throughout the most significant years -and also less known of the Destroy Route either Bakalao Route. His journey begins around the age of eighteen and ends around the age of thirty.

The most important years of their lives, the ones that defined who they are and the ones that determined their entire future. The years that Valencia spent dancing. Those that we all would like to have lived and those that only a few can remember.

‘The Route’: Release date

At the moment the series does not have an exact release date, although Atresmedia plans to premiere it in 2022.

‘The Route’: Cast

Alex Monner, Claudia Salas, Ricardo Gomez, Elisabet Casanovas Y Guillem Barbosa They are the main protagonists of the series.

Monner is Marc Ribó, a successful DJ at the time of greatest repercussion and massification of the Route, a star of the Valencian night of the 90s. Everyone wants to meet him. Everyone wants to dance what he plays. Everyone wants to be like him. Except for Marc, who would give his life to be someone else.

Salas gives life to Toni is a professional road warrior. She has spent the last 12 years on the dance floors of Barraca, Chocolate, Puzzle, Espiral. Perhaps that is why she is already a little tired and thinks that it is time to go home, to stop running away. But if someone takes another, even one more….

Sento is a successful businessman who is played by Gomez as a self-made guy. The night is his house and his friends his family. Or at least they will be for years, because sooner or later Sento will have to understand that everything is over; also friendship, also love, also the Route.

Elisabet Casanovas is Nuria, the character who represents the most artistic part of the Route, that of fashion, design, posters. A part that little by little will disappear in favor of parking and machine music. And it is that Nuria, like Ruta, will have two lives until she no longer knows which one is truly hers.

Guillem Barbosa is Lucas Ribó, one of the pioneers of the Valencian movement, when the Route was still a cultural and transgressive movement. And it is that Lucas has always been determined to be who he is: by day, in the town, a black sheep; at night, in Barraca, a star.

He is also part of the cast of ‘La Ruta’sonia almarcha, Louis Bermejo, Victoria Smell, Joseph Manel Casany, Rosana Espinos Y Nao Albet among others.
