Added devices will now be able to enjoy an experience very similar to pure Android. That might be better than being held hostage by MIUI and other modified systems, which don’t always work as intended.

To install it you need to follow a small tutorial that the LineageOS developers have developed for each device. It is nothing that complicated, but it is not recommended for those who are not very familiar with this type of procedure.

You’ll need to delete all data on your phone to reinstall new software, so you’ll need to back up your data before you begin. You must have the bootloader unlocked on your phone and a custom recovery image on your device. It is also crucial that you update your Google Apps package (GApps) as they will not be bundled with the ROM.

LineageOS 20 expanding

LineageOS 20 was released on December 31, 2022 for dozens of device models. The popular custom ROM is packed with new features, including a revamped camera app now called “Aperture,” major security improvements, and a number of internal tweaks.
