The motivation for the crime would be a large sum of money; husband and father-in-law of one of the victims have not yet been identified
One of the suspects arrested for the disappearance of eight people from the same family, in the Federal District, confessed to the Civil Police that he was hired by Thiago Gabriel Belchior de Oliveira, husband of hairdresser Elizamar Silva, and Marcos Antônio Lopes de Oliveira, his father-in-law, to kill the family.
According to the newspaper metropolis, the information was confirmed by the chief delegate of the 6th DP (Paranoá), Ricardo Viana, on the night of this Tuesday 17, in an interview with the press. The authority reported that the motivation for the crime would be a large sum of money, which belonged to Elizamar and Renata, Marcos’ wife.
After being arrested, Horácio Carlos Ferreira Barbosa, 49, told police that Thiago had ordered his wife’s death for R$100,000 and was responsible for luring the woman to her father’s house in Paranoá. However, when she arrived at the scene, she realized the hairdresser was with her three children and changed her plans.
The husband took them away and gagged them. He tried to calm the children, but, as the report points out, the situation got out of control and the man asphyxiated the four. Renata Juliene Belchior, 52, and Gabriela Belchior de Oliveira, 25, Thiago’s mother and sister, were held captive by the perpetrators.
Marcos allegedly stole the cell phone of the woman and her wife and replied to the text messages by impersonating them. There, they were blindfolded and constantly threatened. The bodies of both were allegedly found inside another car, in Unaí, in Minas Gerais.

From missing to suspect
Police have recovered security footage showing the moment the first man arrested, Gideon Batista de Menezes, 55, buys a liter of petrol. Authorities suspect it was to burn the bodies of the hairdresser and three children.
“He [Horácio] reported that Thiago, along with Marcos, ordered him and Gideon to carry out the crimes. He received R $ 100 thousand. We seized R$15,000 which would have been paid,” Viana revealed.
Before, Thiago and Marcos were considered missing, but now they are being treated as suspects. The police are working on the possibility that the two had fled with a woman, identified as Cláudia, who would be the lover of Elizamar’s father-in-law, and her daughter, named Ana Beatriz.
The motivation for the crime would be the sale of land owned by Renata, worth R $ 400,000, in addition to R $ 100,000 that belonged to Elizamar. Of this amount, R $ 100,000 was allegedly used to pay the criminals. The case remains under investigation.
