PF is serving eight arrest warrants against suspected involvement in the January 8 attacks

This Friday, the Federal Police are executing eight preventive arrest warrants against people suspected of involvement in the attacks on the Three Powers headquarters in Brasilia on January 8, when vandals, radical supporters of former President Jair Bolsonaro, invaded and vandalized the Planalto Palace and buildings of the National Congress and the Federal Court.

In a statement, the PF also said it also complies with 16 search and seizure warrants determined by the STF. According to the company, the operation, called Lesa Pátria, is taking place in São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Minas Gerais, Goiás, Mato Grosso do Sul and the Federal District.

“The facts investigated constitute, in theory, the crimes of violent abolition of the democratic state of law, coup d’état, qualified damage, criminal association, incitement to crime, destruction and deterioration or destruction of particularly protected assets”, specified the PF .
