Why Fans Won’t Get Tired Of Hero Movies According To Kevin Feige

Marvel Studios CEO explained his argument that there will be no audience fatigue from the company’s films

Superhero movie fans won’t get tired of the format. who guarantees this Kevin FeigeCEO of marvel studios and one of the main responsible for the peak of such productions.

In an interview with The Movie Business Podcasttranscribed by Varietythe cinematographic executive revealed that there is no lack of stories in the collection of Marvel, a comic book publisher with eight decades of experience. Within this vast material, according to him, there is the possibility of making adaptations for different genres, not just action works.

Another argument used by Feige is that from the beginning, they said that the format of superhero films would generate “fatigue” in the public. Even with so much time of existence of the own marvel cinematic universe (MCU), started 15 years ago and with dozens of launches, the productions continue to attract interest.

“I’m in marvel studios for over 22 years, and most of us here at marvel studios we’ve been together for about a decade or so. Probably in my second year at Marvel, people would ask, ‘Well, how long is this going to last? Is this comic book movie fad going to end?’ And I did not understand this question. Because, for me, it was like saying after ‘Gone with the Wind’, ‘Well, how many more movies can be made out of novels? Do you think audiences are going to turn sour on movies adapted from books?’”

In his view, books can be about “anything”, just like superhero stories. So, in the words of the executive, “it all depends on the story you are transforming”.

Marvel and the “80 Years of History”

Founded in 1939, Marvel had a catalog exalted by Kevin Feige. The possibility of going through different cinematographic genres makes the executive very excited about the future.

“There are 80 years of the most interesting, exciting and innovative stories told in comics. Marvel, and it is our great privilege to be able to take what we have and adapt them. Another way to do that is to adapt them to different genres and the types of movies we want to make.”

Finally, he states that it is possible to make “any type of film” that has the company logo. marvel studios and “the seed of the company’s editorial history” if the story is “told correctly and adapted in the same way that has kept audiences following for so many years”.

The next movie MCU to be released in theaters is Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. The work opens in Brazil on February 16.
