The actress, so beloved in Hollywood, has received her first Oscar nomination for ‘Blonde’ and has posted a thank you on Instagram.
Ana de Armas is nominated for an Oscar for best actress for ‘Blonde’ and the news has been received by her fans ‘pretending to be shocked’ (or as they would say in Spanish: pretending to surprise us). The point is that the actress has become, based on work and effort, one of the great discoveries in Hollywood and her latest role has given her the greatest joy: the most desired nomination by those who work in the film industry.
Ana de Armas came to Spain from her native Cuba and the ‘millennial’ generation fell in love with her in the series ‘El Internado’ (2007) – with her and with those who are good national stars today: Martino Rivas, Blanca Suarez, Yon Gonzalez…). In 2010 her character died, and a few years later, knowing little or nothing about her, she appeared sharing the screen with Keanu Reeves in the thriller ‘Knock, knock’ (2015). From there, she made her way to establishing herself as a young revelation in ‘Blade Runner 2049’ (2017), along with Ryan Gosling. And the rest (‘Daggers in the back’ (2019), ‘No time to die’ (2021)…) is history.
The fact is that now, her performance in ‘Blonde’ (2022) – the most important role of her life – has led her to be nominated for an Oscar for best actress, and this is how she has reacted on Instagram to the news:
“Wow! I am over the moon. Thank you for all your love and support, for all your messages, calls and videos. My heart has never been more full! What an amazing day, what an honor. Thank you to the Academy for making it happen this dream”, he wrote under a couple of photos in the gallery in his ‘feed’. All very strong. Congratulations, Anna!
