With the opening of Ghibli’s amusement park in Japan, fans can feel as if they are inside his most famous animated films and the characters come to life.
However, another big wish of many fans is to see an adaptation of movies like “Spirited Away” or “My Neighbor Totoro” with real-life actors.
While for now there is no news that the Japanese studio wants to do live action with its animated films, fans can satisfy their curiosity a little with the use of artificial intelligence.
Using visualization programs that use artificial intelligence, you can see what the characters of “The Lord of the Rings” would look like according to the description of the books and how those of “Spirited Away” come to life.

‘Spirited Away’: this is what the movie would look like if it was live action
His anime film “Spirited Away” (“Spirited Away”, as it was called in English) was released in 2001 in Japan under the direction of Hayao Miyazaki and was so popular and well received that it even won an Oscar.
In the story, a 10-year-old girl named Chihiro embarks on a journey into an unknown universe after her parents are suddenly transformed into pigs in a ghost town.
Studio Ghibli is known for its animated films and in the case of “Spirited Away”, only one proof of what it would look like in live action was given at a performance at the Imperial Theater in Tokyo in March 2022.
However, artist and content creator Renato Siqueira, known as Penpas, took it upon himself to show what a live-action Spirited Away movie would look like.
He did this using the Midjourney tool, which produces AI images of the data it’s fed, like Tom Holland in a live-action “Zelda.”
