On Instagram, Lady Gaga explains:When I wrote this song for Top Gun: Maverick, I could not understand how many layers it covered in the heart of the film, in my psyche, and in the nature of the world in which we live. I worked on it for years, I worked on it, I tried to make it ours. I wanted to turn music into our deepest need, both to understand and to understand each other – the desire to be close when we feel so far away and the ability to celebrate the heroes of life.
