Willem Dafoe joins Robert Eggers’ Nosferatu

Robert Eggers is clearly in the Willem Dafoe fan club, having worked with him twice Lighthouse Yup the northerner. He’s set to do it for a third time, with Dafoe joining the cast of the new version of Eggers. Nosferato.

Bill Skarsgård, Lily-Rose Depp and newcomer Nicholas Hoult are already on board to star in the film, which is backed by Focus Features.

In the new reinvention, Nosferato is a gothic tale of obsession between a bewitched young woman (Depp) in 19th-century Germany and the ancient Transylvanian vampire (Skarsgard) who stalks her, bringing with him indescribable horror.

Neither Hoult’s nor Dafoe’s role has been revealed yet, but we could see Hoult as Depp’s husband.
