Theater center “On Strastnoy” see performance “I won’t tell” based on a new play by Alexander Tsypkin, directed by Grigory Artamonov and Semyon Barkov. The poster promises a “New Year’s fairy tale for adults” – and this is really an incredibly light and kind production that lifts the mood and makes you believe in miracles – not global, but ordinary, routine, which are so lacking in everyday life. The story about a children’s gift for the New Year turns into a reflection on the typical problems of young married couples, who most often do not have the time or patience to hear each other. The six-year-old girl Varya will save everyone with her letter to Santa Claus (which dad will first lose) – what the child has thought of will move everyone, perhaps to tears. Separately, I note the magnificent cast.

In the online cinema Premier almost a whole season out comedy series “Stream”. The director is Rustam Ilyasov, the cast is great: Alexandra Ursulyak, Anton Filipenko, Olga Dibtseva, Denis Vlasenko… The protagonist of the story, high school student Zhora, moves to another city with his parents and, in order to improve relations with classmates and teachers and achieve justice, decides with the help of a helmet-mounted camera, broadcast on the Internet everything that he sees at home and at school. Zhora, in my opinion, is a real hero of our time, who most clearly reflects the modern youth reality. He is going to fight lies with full “glasnost”, becomes an incredibly popular blogger and quite an influential character in his circle: someone wants to use his power for personal gain, and someone perceives him as a person who can change the world for the better. The series is 16+, but I think it will be useful and interesting for younger teenagers as well. Do not expect intricate plot moves: we have before us the unadorned average reality and real teenage problems. But the characters are quite colorful and even deliberately exaggerated – but they look harmonious. An excellent comedy project with instructive notes.
In the Tretyakov Gallery opened on Krymsky Val exhibition “The Grand Duchy. Treasures of the Vladimir-Suzdal land”, prepared jointly with the State Vladimir-Suzdal Museum-Reserve and the Triumph Gallery. The exhibition is timed to coincide with the millennium anniversary of the first annalistic mention of the city of Suzdal, which is being celebrated in 2024; it presents about 600 exhibits – and these are antiquities, and works of art, and icons (including the brushes of the brilliant Andrey Rublev), and elements of ancient carved decor, and even a real treasure! The earliest objects date back to the 9th-10th centuries: if you are a fan of antiquities like me, come recharge with this incredible energy. In addition, there are works created specifically for this exhibition by the chief architect of Moscow, artist and corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Arts, Sergei Kuznetsov. The exhibition is open until May 10.
