Palmeiras could have a ‘market opportunity’ as the European window closes

Verdão’s main target, Wallace, is at Udinese and shouldn’t be traded to Europe

The European football transfer window ends this Tuesday (31st), which could be a positive point for Palmeiras. This is because the Alviverde board has already shown interest in signing midfielder Walace, from Udinese-ITA, seen as a good replacement for Danilo.

With the closure of the European window, the expectation is that the value of the deal will go down, since the player is not expected to move now to another club, which the Italian board expected to happen. Currently the value is around 15 million euros (R $ 82.8 million), something that excludes Verdão because it is very high value.

In this way it is possible that Verdão will look for the club again, resume negotiations with a more contained offer for the player and convince the Unidese board of directors.

Another current target for Palmeiras is Michael who is in Al Hilal, Saudi Arabia. Despite the high value, another point weighs even more on the negotiation: the club does not intend to release Michael because it has no other option to make up for the athlete’s absence at this moment.

Two other players Palmeiras were interested in were Matheus Henrique, from Sassuolo-ITA, and Jean Lucas, but both are practically discarded.

Verdão remains the only one of the São Paulo greats who has not signed anyone for the 2023 season.
