The announcement comes alongside news of the new phase of cinema, and according to announcements from James Gunn and Peter Safran, the aim is to adapt the comic book arc Supergirl: The Woman of Tomorrow, one of the most popular of the characters from part of the readers.
Also, one of Gunn’s great pleasures is bringing stories with a dash of darkness and more weirdness, so the Supergirl movie won’t be anything like fans have seen so far.
According to the director, it will be a very different version.
“It will tell the difference between Superman, who was sent to Earth and raised by loving parents, and Supergirl, who spent the first 14 years of her life watching everyone die a terrible death.”
