In James Gunn’s new plan for DC Comics movies, the entire universe will be rebooted and actors like Jason Momoa, Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill will leave their characters for a new generation to embody.
The reboot of the DC movie universe will not take place until after the premiere of ‘Shazam! Fury of the Gods,” “The Flash,” “Blue Beetle,” and “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom” from 2023, so new movies are still a long way off.

Dave Bautista wanted to be Bane in DC but was turned down because he was too old
As James Gunn and Dave Bautista are good friends from their work on “Guardians of the Galaxy,” the two had discussed the future of DC and a role for the former fighter.
However, speaking to Insider on January 30, Bautista revealed that his fight to portray the character of Bane, one of Batman’s biggest villains, on the big screen is over.
The actor confirmed that the DC universe will be completely rebooted, so James Gunn wants young actors to lead the project and they can appear in the films for many years.

Bautista, 54, admitted that it is no longer possible for him to play Bane with the physical presence required, more so because the new DC universe would require him to be the villain for 10 or even 15 years.
Back in April 2021, during JusticeCon, Bautista expressed his desire to be Bane, but it’s understood that he now accepts that he couldn’t with the role due to age and the physical demands involved.
Now focusing on more dramatic roles, such as in his new film “Knock At The Cabin”, Dave Bautista said he wants to be a respectable actor and not like Dwayne Johnson, so he has accepted that his time to be Bane has passed . .
If a new Batman movie uses Bane, the earliest it would hit theaters is late 2024 or 2025, when Bautista will be over 55 years old. While he could still make it to DC, he would play a role without as much of a physical presence.
