The ‘Star Wars’ trilogy that Disney made after buying the franchise from George Lucas has received a lot of criticism, it’s even one of the films that has an alternate ending from fans.
Some of the biggest criticisms of the new movies were that Disney ruined characters like Luke Skywalker and that new leads like Rey didn’t get enough on-screen development.
Daisy Ridley, from “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker,” has been away from the franchise and her career has been low-key, but that hasn’t stopped her from wanting to return to the galaxy far, far away as Rey.
Daisy Ridley wants to return to ‘Star Wars’ as Rey
In a chat with The Hollywood Reporter on February 1, 2023, the actress talked about her independent film ‘Sometimes I Think About Dying’ and also touched on her return to ‘Star Wars’.
When asked if she’d like Rey to return to the saga to tell the future of her story, or if it would take several decades to usher in a new generation of characters, Ridley said she’d be happy to return either way.
A few days earlier at the Sundance Film Festival (January 26) he also expressed his desire to iMDb, commenting that he is currently not attached to any major franchise and hopes that Disney will talk to him about re-interpreting Rey.

If Rey returns, it’s almost impossible for her to appear in any series since everything takes place before the events of her trilogy, so she could only appear in a new movie or production that has yet to be announced.
