Guy Ritchie’s The Covenant trailer sends Jake Gyllenhaal to war

With cameras almost ready to go The Ministry of War without Knights (which by all accounts looks like the most Guy Ritchie film imaginable), the first trailer for the British director’s (more or less) upcoming film. Guy Ritchie’s deal It’s a bit surprising, not only from his last film, Operation Fortuna: the cunning of warThere’s still no land here (or in much of the world), but in that sense it’s not exactly typical Guy Ritchie fare, even with jaw-dropping muscle action. Oh, and yes, his name is actually in the official title. Watch the trailer here:

Not from London. No beggars. No gangsters. No jokes. No tricky nicknames. The Knights this is definitely not the case. In exchange, Guy Ritchie’s deal – originally titled The interpreter – looks like a tense and emotional military thriller that is more about the effects of war than special effects.

Written by him anger of man Made with regular collaborators Ivan Atkinson and Marn Davies, the story centers on Jake Gyllenhaal’s Army Sergeant John Kinley, who ends up being rescued by his interpreter (Dar Salim) when an IED derails a tour in Afghanistan. Cuando Kinley added that his Salvadoran now is mismo está en peligro y que el gobierno de EE. UU. no hará nada par intervenir, he enfrenta a la prospect de enfrentarse solo à los talibanes para déshacerse del “gancho” figurative that his experiences have left him. The supporting cast includes Alexander Ludwig, Antony Starr, Jason Wong, Emily Beecham and Christian Ochoa.

While The deal looks set to mark a shift in tone for its director from his previous work, for Gyllenhaal it’s an opportunity to further explore the territory we’ve seen him tread in films such as brothers AND jarhead. While there is no UK release date yet, it will be released on April 21st in the US, hopefully it won’t become another one. Operation Fortune (seriously, where is Donald from this movie?).
