Rumors about the cancellation of ‘Yellowstone’ get a response, what will happen to the series?

Kevin Costner’s schedule seems to be causing problems…

Paramount+ has responded to rumors that Kevin Costner’s ‘Yellowstone’ series was nearing its end.

As reported Deadlineon February 9, the creator of the series, Taylor Sheridan, planned to close ‘Yellowstone’ and move part of the cast to a spinoff.

The situation had occurred (apparently) because Costner wanted to dedicate only one week to shoot all his scenes for the second half of the fifth season, so that it could fit in with the production of his own film project. Western‘Horizon’. This proposal seems to have been rejected by Paramount.

Besides, Sheridan appears to have begun developing an alternate series that would introduce Matthew McConaughey as the lead.which would be accompanied by other recognized faces.

Paramount has declined to confirm whether or not the series was going to end, but has confirmed that Costner is still involved in the fifth season of the series, so there does not seem to be an imminent cancellation around the corner.

A spokesperson for the platform reported: “There are no news to share. Kevin Costner is a fundamental pillar of ‘Yellowstone’ and we hope he remains so for a long time. Thanks to the brilliant mind of Taylor Sheridan, we are working on expanding the franchise and this amazing world it has created.”

Matthew McConaughey is an exceptional actor who we would love to collaborate with.

The immediate cancellation would surprise fans because ‘Yellowstone’ actor Wes Bentley had publicly said that Sheridan had a long-term plan to finish the series.

Just last week Paramount confirmed a second season of the prequel series, starring Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren, ‘1923’. And, due to the success of this one, another prequel has also emerged, ‘1883’.

Sheridan seems to be very busy, as he’s also producing Sylvester Stallone’s crime drama ‘Tulsa King’; and Jeremy Renner’s political drama, ‘Mayor of Kingstown.’

‘Yellowstone’ prepares the return of the second half of its fifth season later this year on Paramount +.
