The Avengers’ worst mistakes that make us question whether they deserve the title of ‘superheroes’

‘Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania’ introduces us to the villainous Kang and kicks off Phase 5 of the MCU, but if we look back, we’ll realize that in 15 years of Marvel movies we’ve seen some Avengers action that isn’t typical of a superhero .

Ant-Man has not been a good father and his mistakes take away time with his daughter

The biggest mistake Scott Lang’s (Paul Rudd) character has made is making decisions that take him away from the most important person in his life: his daughter Cassie Lang (played by three different actors in the MCU).

From the first “Ant-Man” movie it seems that Scott’s life of crime separated him from his daughter during the 4 years he was in prison. Later, Scott was arrested again for his involvement in the events of ‘Captain America: Civil War’.

Although he spends two years under house arrest, this limits his time with Cassie. Then, when his sentence finally ends, Thanos’ snapshot causes him to be trapped for 5 years in the Quantum Realm.

When Scott reappears, his daughter is already 18 years old and the Avenger has been missing most of his life. This will be used by Kang to convince Ant-Man to help him, even if it means another big mistake.

Iron Man created Ultron to try and defend Earth

Although Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr)’s intentions were good when he devised a mechanism to defend Earth from some Avengers-level threat, his selfishness and stupidity ended up creating one of the worst villains.

Tony’s arrogance after his friends tell him his idea is dangerous not only leads to the creation of Ultron, but also sets the stage for his break with Captain America and the implementation of the Sokovia Accords.

Spider-Man handed Stark technology to the villain Mysterio

Spider-Man has had several blunders that show he may not be ready to be a hero, but one of the biggest is when he handed Mysterio the legacy left to him by the late Tony Stark.

Peter has only known Quentin Beck for over a week and still believes he is the one to carry on Iron-Man’s legacy, so he gives him Tony’s glasses with EDITH, which can control a Stark satellite with military capacity.

Scarlet Witch and her transformation into a villain

Wanda Maximoff is an Avenger who has made some of the worst mistakes as a superhero, from losing control of her powers and killing innocent people in Sokovia, to enslaving the entire town of Westview.

But his biggest mistake was seen in “Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness”, when he caused great chaos in the multiverse, only to be reunited with a version of his children in another universe.

The way she does it is the worst, not caring about the lives of innocent people or other versions of herself, Wanda only focuses on one version of her children, instead of digging deeper and finding ideals that she can easily adopt.

It was Star-Lord’s fault that Thanos was able to succeed in his plan

One of the biggest mistakes of a character in the MCU is attributed to Peter Quill / Star-Lord (Chris Pratt) in ‘Avengers: Infinity War’, after his impulsive actions Thanos succeeds in his mission to collect the Infinity Stones.

Doctor Strange’s plan to ambush Thanos on his planet works, but when the Avengers are about to get his gauntlet, Quill can’t handle the news that the villain killed Gamora.

The anger at having his girlfriend killed by his own adoptive father is too much for Star-Lord and he begins to beat him, causing Thanos to break free from Mantis’ control and hold the gauntlet.
