Pezzolano takes responsibility for Cruzeiro’s defeat: ‘It’s 100% my fault’

Against Pouso Alegre, the Celeste team played poorly and suffered their second consecutive defeat at the Campeonato Mineiro

After the defeat against Pouso Alegre on Tuesday evening, Cruzeiro coach Paulo Pezzolano took responsibility for the negative result. The coach also said it was the team’s worst game since his arrival early last season.

– It was the worst match I played at Cruzeiro. I messed up what to do. Sometimes, looking for something better, you make mistakes and do something worse. Happens. (…) The fault of the game (of the result) is 100% mine. (…) Today I made a mistake. I made a mistake and we played badly – the Uruguayan complained.

With the result, Cruzeiro suffered their third consecutive match without a win in the Mineiro Championship. After defeating Patrocinense in their State debut, the stellar team has already accumulated a draw, against Athletic, and two consecutive defeats, against América-MG and Pouso Alegre.

Now, Cruzeiro are forced to win again in the classic, against Atlético-MG next Monday, February 13th. Commanded by the Celeste team, the teams face off at 20:00, also at the Arena Independência, in Belo Horizonte.
