Warner Bros. has confirmed that despite the various changes that DC Studios has undergone recently, “Constantine 2”, sequel to the hit with Keanu Reeves, is still in the works (unlike “Batgirl”, which has not had the same luck ).
EW recapped that the franchise that began in 2005 was expected to begin production in September 2022, with Reeves, Akiva Goldsman writing the script and Francis Lawrence directing.
So far, little is known about the project, nor when it will be on the big screen. However, we do know that Reeves always wanted to resurrect his character, but was unsuccessful at the time due to Hollywood’s lack of interest.
When James Gunn and Peter Safran, the new leaders of DC, spoke about the new directions of the studio, fans were surprised, since “Constantine 2” was not mentioned. But, with Warner’s guarantee that the film will happen, they can be calm.
The new film could be in the Elsewords category, the so-called standalone DC films, where there are the latest “Batman”, “Joker”, among others.

‘Batgirl’ actress posts behind-the-scenes footage from canceled movie
Actress Leslie Grace, who would have played Batgirl in HBO Max’s canceled 2022 film, has released a video featuring several behind-the-scenes moments from the film, including her latest costume.
The publication was a montage of moments from her year on Instagram to celebrate the arrival of 2023. Between photos and small videos of her personal life, there are several mini clips of the actress behind the scenes of bad girl. Moments featured include filming diaries, stunt training, action sequences, and Barbara Gordon’s purple-and-yellow Batgirl costume.
