That’s right, having brought the laughter and love to the time-looped rom-com. Palm SpringsSamberg will star opposite Jean Smart in 42.6 years oldan Amazon Studios comedy I, Tony AND cruel Director Craig Gillespie.
As announced by the Hollywood reporterthe film – written by The menu write Seth Reiss – you will see the brooklyn nine nine The actor plays a young man who, to save his life, undergoes an experimental procedure in which he is cryogenically frozen. When he wakes up (you guessed it!) 42.6 years later, physically unchanged thanks to frostbite, Samberg’s character finds himself utterly alone and dependent on the help of his now much older ex-girlfriend embodied by Jean Smart. Everything sounds a little american pickle–ish with a sambergian twist.
There is no release date news yet 42.6 years oldbut Gillespie has a past when it comes to silly rom-coms (if you haven’t seen Ryan Gosling’s main man Lars and the royal daughter you are missing something). And with Smart recently appeared on HBO sentinels, Easttown mareAND ThingsLet’s hope this continues its streak. Samberg is rarely wrong, so feel free to cryogenically freeze us and wake us up when he arrives.
