Owen Wilson plays Bob Ross in first comedy trailer

Every time we see Bob Ross’ happy trees, we want to say, “Wow!” And every time we say “Wow!” Owen Wilson comes to mind. So you can only imagine our giddy delight when we saw the first teaser of Brit McAdams’ debut film. Paintwhich features nothing less than Loki, Automobilesand the frequent Wes Anderson star channeling his inner Bob. Check it out below:

Written and directed by McAdams, whose screenplay was on Hollywood’s blacklist of best unproduced screenplays of 2010, the IFC Films comedy stars Wilson as Carl Nargle, Vermont’s number one painter on public television. As the official synopsis states, the painter is “convinced he has it all: an exclusive perm, a custom van, and fans hang up on every shot of him… until a younger, better artist steals it all.” (and all) . ) that Carl loves.” Michaela Watkins, Wendi McLendon-Covey, Ciara Renée, Lusia Strus, Stephen Root and newcomer Lucy Freyer will be on hand for what looks like an incredibly eccentric ride.

The fact that Wilson looks like Bob Ross, sounds like Bob Ross, and says to Bob Rossy things like “There’s nothing like having the ones you love best when the world gets cold” is hardly a coincidence here. As such, there’s a lovely meta tone Paint (Zing!) that promises happy laughter abound. And even if that NO ends up being the next great comic book masterpiece, we’ll only remember what our old friend Bob once said: “We make no mistakes, just happy little accidents.”

Paint will be released in the US on April 7, 2023, before heading to UK cinemas on April 28. Only three months left! Wow!
