New song arrived with an animated clip
The band Linkin Park released this Friday 10, an unreleased track: lost. The song was in the band archives for the album meteor and was found confused as the group scoured hard drives at the time to prepare the Grammy-nominated reissue of the record. Meteora 20th Anniversary Edition will be released on April 7, 2023 and will be available for streaming and digital download.
“Finding this track was like finding a favorite photo you forgot to take, like it was waiting for the right moment to reveal itself. For years, fans have been asking us to release something in Chester’s voice [Bennington]and I’m thrilled that we were able to make it happen in such a special way,” said Mike Shinoda. Chester, the lead singer of the band, died in 2017.
The track’s release came as a game of charades on the band’s website. To unravel the mystery, fans had to piece together the clues correctly.
OR meteor was originally released in March 2003 and reached number 1 on the Billboard Top 200 before going 7x platinum in the US. The disc contains memorable songs such as Numb, which eclipsed 1 billion Spotify streams and 1.8 billion YouTube views for its music video.
