DJ Klean, Brazilian who made Rihanna’s funk remix, reveals: ‘I didn’t know what was going to happen’

After contacting Rihanna’s team, Brazilian DJ Klean did not know that his remix would be used at the Super Bowl

Rihanna returned to the stage last Sunday night, the 12th, after years of hiatus in his musical career. The singer was the big star of the halftime show super bowlend of nfl – Major American football league.

The presentation, however, brought other surprises for Brazilian fans, such as the funk version of “Rude Boy” performed by the singer. The rhythm belonging to Brazil could only have been remixed by a Brazilian producer, in this case, the Bahian ewerthonknown as DJ Klean.

“I’m fan of Rihanna. Rude Boy it’s my favorite song of hers, that’s why I chose it for the remix”, he explained to Faces about the track he made in 2021. Second kleanthe team of Rihanna reached out to him earlier this year, without explaining what the exact use of the remix would be.

“We didn’t know for sure what was going to happen, they were very rushed. We were sure while we watched the presentation. When it started I already knew it was mine. I went crazy, I started screaming,” he said. He had help from Zegonduo DJ tropkillazto get her work recognized as official by the singer’s team.

“You can scream now and celebrate! Rihanna rang ‘Rude Boy Remix‘ of DJ Klean not now super bowl! That’s the name of the Remix! Proud my nephew!” Zegon celebrated on the networks.

On influences in music, klean highlighted the Latin rhythms: “I like to work with all our Latin sound, with a lot of percussive stuff, a lot of Reggaeton stuff, pagodão da Bahia, among others. I fit in with this wave of percussive electronic sound.”

“It was an honor to represent the funk that is electronic music in Brazil in the super bowl. I’m really looking forward to more things like this happening.”
