With canceled shows, mud, snakes and transport delays, REP Festival brought headaches to the public
organizers of REP Festival may be fined BRL 12 million by Procon-RJ, the Consumer Protection and Defense Program, according to a report by Folha de S. Paulo. The event held last Saturday, 11, presented several flaws and dangerous situations to the public.
Distrust in the festival began to emerge with the change of location less than two weeks before the day of the shows. The farm in Guaratiba that hosted the event was full of mud after heavy rains – expected for the month of February.
Snakes and frogs were seen, and some people in the audience even played with the animals.

The problems caused the second day of the festival, planned for Sunday, to be cancelled. Procon claimed to have received a series of complaints from people who went to the REP. In addition to structural problems, there was no accessibility, and arriving at the site was hampered by the delay of buses.
“According to the CDC, the Consumer Defense Code, fines for breaching consumer protection and defense rules will be calculated according to the seriousness of the breach, the economic size of the supplier and the advantage gained. Depending on these criteria, it can reach 12 million reais.” said the agency.
Rafael Liporaceone of the organizers of the REPadmitted the festival’s problems in a publication on social networks: “We tried to do our best, but unfortunately, it didn’t work. was the best.”
