Banda announced several dates of the M72 tour, which features two shows in the same city (but with different repertoires and opening attractions) within a 72-hour interval
Fans of metallica have nothing to complain about in terms of news. The veteran thrash metal band recently announced a good part of its plans for the next two years: the release of a new album, 72 Seasonson April 14, 2023, and the realization of a world tour, M72with dates up to 2024.
It is the 11th studio album by metallica (12th if Lulu, made in partnership with Lou Reed, is accounted for). The production is signed by Greg Fidelmanthe same as the previous work Hardwired… To Self-Destruct (2016), together with the leaders of the group: the vocalist and guitarist James Hetfield and the drummer Lars Ulrich, Kirk Hammett (guitar) and Robert Trujillo (bass) complete the formation, but without involvement with the command of the recordings.
the single “Lux Æterna” has already been released and can be seen with the video clip below.
Metallica’s new tour
Apart from the album itself, the proposal presented by the metallica with the M72. The idea is to offer two concerts in each city visited by the band, 72 hours apart – hence the number present in the name of the tour.
To encourage the purchase of tickets for both nights, the promise is of a very different experience, as the musicians will change the repertoire and even the opening acts. To give you an idea: on the first dates announced in Europe, the position of introductory band will be rotated between Architects, Mammoth WVH, Five Finger Death Punch It is Ice Nine Kills. In North America, the Architects gives way to the celebration of Panther with the guests Zakk Wylde (guitar) and Charlie Benante (drums).
Exclusive stage, young fans and NGOs
The news does not stop there. O metallica also said that the M72 will feature a new stage design that rescues the famous snake pit, an exclusive area in front of the main stage where musicians walk and interact more closely with the fans present there. The most recent tours did not have this space, but the situation changes from 2023.
Aware that its audience is being renewed, especially after the presence of music “Master of Puppets” on the soundtrack of the series “Stranger Things”, the group decided to encourage such a movement. For the shows M72, there will be lots of discounted tickets for fans under 16. After all, it’s through kids that heavy metal will live on.
A portion of the proceeds from each ticket sold overall will go to NGO All Within My Hands, maintained by the band itself. The institution combats food insecurity and provides assistance in areas of natural disasters. During the recent visit of the musicians to Brazil, last April, they allocated an undisclosed amount to the Pequeno Cotolengo Health Complex, which helps people with multiple disabilities in Curitiba.
exclusive packages
As expected, there will be VIP packages for fans who want to have a different experience at the Metallica.
For amounts ranging from US$ 414 (R$ 2.1 thousand, at current quotation and in direct transaction) to US$ 7.2 thousand (R$ 38 thousand), fans in North America and Europe will be able to have early access to shows and merchandising stalls, win exclusive items, access to the snake pit, open bar / open food and even take guests.
