The group released an official statement attributing the inability to meet the schedule to the incident with the drummer
Lollapalooza 2023 was unofficially turning into the “Blink Comeback Festival” with the original and classic lineup. But guitarist and singer Tom DeLonge published video ad that it will not be this time that the group will mark this comeback in front of South American fans.
DeLonge, who left the band in 2015 and returned last year, justified the inability to tour with an incident with drummer Travis Barker, who will have to have finger surgery.
The band took a break at the height of their pop punk popularity in 2005. They returned in 2009, but DeLonge left seven years ago and left fans expecting them to perform as a classic trio again (with the bassist and vocalist Mark Hoppus rounding out crack).
The group and the festival itself point out that the presentations have been postponed to the 2024 edition of the festival. Those who wish to have their tickets refunded can request it Here.
