Led by João Mauricio Galindo, the project returns to Sala São Paulo starting this Saturday 4 at 11 am

About 20 years ago, the conductor Joao Mauricio Galindo it was the beginning of one of the music industry’s most celebrated projects, Aprendiz de Maestro, with actor Cássio Scapin. In a successful partnership with the playwright and director Paolo Rogerio Lopezwho elaborates the texts and signs the artistic direction, the concerts are back, starting this Saturday 4th at 11amTO St. Paul roomcentral region of the capital.

During all this time, the project was established until it got the right to be part of the São Paulo music program. “It is a mixture of concert and theater for children and of an educational nature, in the sense of making children develop the pleasure of attending a concert”, explains maestro Galindo, who underlines the importance of having been embraced by Tucca (Association of children and adolescents with cancer).

For this first presentation of the year, there will be eight in all, the program is entitled The carnival of the space animals and hosts the Pia Fraus group, with its giant animals. As the maestro explains, for this concert they used the Animal Carnivalfrom French Camille Saint-Saëns.

“Paulo Rogério invented a story where we get an intergalactic robot, who is our friend, who comes here saying that other planets don’t believe there is life on Earth, they think this is fake news,” he explains. As a solution, there will be a carnival parade of animals along Avenida Láctea to show extraterrestrials that, yes, there is life on Earth, says Galindo.

Bringing classical music to this demanding audience which is children, as the conductor says, is something that cannot be done in the conventional way, it is not possible to play a complete Beethoven concert, for example, because that would be something would have the opposite effect to that desired. . “After deciding on the theme of the presentation, Paulo Rogério starts the research and creates a story,” says Galindo. Then there’s the song selection. “I pick a few snippets of songs, 2 minutes or more, and that’s the secret. After all, you don’t want to play a whole symphony for the kid. He doesn’t have the head to hear it.”

In addition to the sound part, the visual appeal is very relevant to capture the attention of the little ones. “Now we will have the Pia Fraus group and their puppets with us, but usually we also work with the dancers”, completes the maestro, underlining the importance of the visual issue. And he celebrates the fact that the show is the kind that captures the attention of children and appeals to adults, who also learn from it.
