Vocalist and frontman of Slipknoticonic American metal band, Corey Taylor was not favorable to the theory that rock is dying. This is because the member of the stone sour named three young rock groups that “carry heavy music.”
During an interview with NMETaylor spoke about CMF2, his next solo studio album, and talked about how the work has several influences, from a young age until today. “There’s also ’90s grunge, ’70s punk and the hard-hitting shit I helped create in the late ’90s and early ’00s. It’s a little bit of everything, but it was important for us to give it a feel of freshness,” said the artist.
“The things that inspire me the most come from the things I grew up listening to; hip hop of street, punk, metal and all the bullshit that seems to come from somewhere I can relate to and relate to,” he continued. According to the singer, he sees this passion he puts into music in newer bands where audiences “can feel it. them leaning towards passion.”
