Simon AND Simaria experienced a controversial separation in the musical partnershipbut this was not the main challenge in the life of the nuns: they still struggle to give their father a proper burial, Senhor Antônio, who died 28 years ago and is buried as a pauper.

Born in Uibaí, a city in Bahia located 7 hours from Salvador, Simone and Simaria, very young, moved to Juina, a mining region located in Mato Grosso. “We had nothing. We lived in a wooden house in the middle of Garimpo do Arroz. It is a very dangerous place and every day we saw dead people. Our father was there looking for a rock. She was the daughter who found the body of her deceased father in the bathtub. “He went to the shower and called my mother. My father was like this: when you called he answered right away.
