Vocalist and leader of alternative rock band hole, courtney love went to Instagram to criticize Rock Hall of Fame due to lack of female representation. The post uses a tweet from the author Jessica Hopperwho criticized the institution’s programs in commemoration of the Women’s History Month.
In the caption, love wrote: “So tired of these old boys. Thank you so much, @msjesshopp. I’ve been begging someone to do these maths for decades.” The original post by Hopper told how, of the 719 honorees of the Hall, only about 8.5% are women. The writer also reported how the representation of women at the institution is “worse than the numbers of female artists on country radio (10%) and female headliners at major music festivals (13%).”
