Family, friends and artists greet Canisso, bassist of Raimundos


The vigil took place during this Wednesday 15th; Supla, Badauí, Andreas Kisser and Digão were present

The body of bassist and member of Raimundos, José Henrique Campos Pereira, known as Canisso, was veiled this Wednesday 15th in Barueri, in the interior of São Paulo. In attendance were bandmates, family and friends of the musician, who died after a fall at home when he passed out.

The farewell ceremony began around 10:00, at the José Corrêa Poliesportivo Gym, and was open to the public. In addition to various wreaths, there was also a flag of the band spread out in the stands.

Canisso’s wife, Adriana Toscano, with whom he has four children, was comforted by friends and family who were at the scene. Mike, Nina, Lorena and Pedro did not leave their mother during the farewell.

Raimundo’s vocalist and friend of the artist, Digão stayed with the family and even consoled some fans who came to the gym to say goodbye to Canisso. Supla, Badauí, singer of CPM 22, and Andreas Kisser, guitarist of Sepultura, also paid tribute.

Canisso died on Monday the 13th after passing out and falling at home. He was taken to the hospital, where he was treated, but he didn’t resist.

The bassist became known for having participated in the original line-up of Raimundos, a project he joined until 2002. After a period of absence, he returned to the group in 2007. In addition to Raimundos, Canisso has already played bass in other successful bands in Brazil, such as Detonautas and Rodox.
