The Rio trio presents ‘Mandinga Beat Novo’ with a fusion of sounds
Rio trio Mandinga Beat release long-awaited debut album, Mandinga Beat Newa fusion of sounds that celebrates ancestry and the future. With the single Kafofo as a gateway, the band positions itself in the music scene with an aesthetic Afrofusionwhich combines Afro-diasporic, electronic and organic influences, resulting in a unique and contemporary sound.
To celebrate the launch, the Mandinga beat holds a special show for the project Sesc new musical invitationsin which the group invites Larissa Luz. The free presentation will take place this Wednesday (22nd), at 7.30pm, in Sesc Tijuca (RJ). Artist acclaimed by mainstream media, singer, songwriter and host, Larissa Luce joins the trio for a powerful and unprecedented night. Tickets can be collected at the venue box office, subject to capacity.

With 11 tracks, Mandinga Beat New it is an ambitious project that goes beyond music. The album, which features appearances from artists from different countries, such as DANDY BJ (Benin) e Lenna Bahule (Mozambique) —, functions as a portal that connects the BrazilTHE Africa and the African diaspora. The musical production, signed by André Sampaio AND Joss Deeexplores the union between electronic rhythms and organic instruments, creating a rich, danceable and engaging sonic experience.
The innovative mix in Dolby Atmos It’s a technical difference that elevates the listener’s experience. This technology allows you to 360 degree immersionplacing the audience at the center of the band’s sound universe, a choice that reflects the proposal of Afrofusion psychedelic sound of the trio, where past, present and future meet in harmony.
“We created Kafofo to be a safe place, a sonic space where black love is celebrated with the lightness and depth it deserves,” defines the trio.“We wanted the electronic rhythm to dialogue with the warmth of the organic instruments, creating a danceable and intimate atmosphere at the same time. It’s a song to connect with, both on the dance floor and as a couple”explains the guitarist and producer André Sampaio.
The single Kafofo it is the calling card of the new album. The track, a downtempo Afro house with elements of ijexá and samba, brings an Afro-centric declaration of love. The lyrics, written by the singer Victoria dos Santosrecover the original words BantuPleases “cafofo” AND “dengo”, strengthen the presence of the African linguistic heritage in the Brazilian vocabulary.
“Bringing these words to the center of the song is an act of celebration of our African linguistic heritage”he states Victory. “It’s about recognizing that the way we love and express affection has deep roots. And, of course, the inspiration came from a very real place. I composed Kafofo as someone giving their heart to someone. You know that desire to drop everything and live with the person you love? Venus in Cancer in love is a danger!”
The fusion of the continents materializes in the special participation of Melo-T, manufacturer of Zimbabwe based in Canada and specialist in Afro fusion AND Amapiano.
