Raimundo’s production reveals the cause of Canisso’s death


The bassist’s body was veiled on Wednesday 15th in Barueri (SP); he left behind a wife and four children

Raimundos bassist José Henrique Campos Pereira, known as Canisso, died in due to a heart attack while at home. According to the newspaper Folha de São Paulo, the information was revealed by the band’s production. The musician died on Monday 13 at the age of 57.

According to the production, the fall suffered in the kitchen of his house occurred shortly after the heart attack. Canisso was rescued, but died in hospital at 11:30. His body was buried on Wednesday 15 in Barueri, in the interior of San Paolo, where members of the group, family and friends were present.

The ceremony, open to the public, took place at the José Corrêa Poliesportivo Gym. Canisso’s wife, Adriana Toscano, with whom he has four children, was comforted by friends and family who were at the scene. Mike, Nina, Lorena and Pedro did not leave their mother during the farewell.

Raimundo’s vocalist and friend of the artist, Digão stayed with the family and even consoled some fans who came to the gym to say goodbye to Canisso. Supla, Badauí, singer of CPM 22, and Andreas Kisser, guitarist of Sepultura, also paid tribute.

Career

Canisso made himself known for having participated in the original formation of Raimundos, a project he was part of until 2002. After a period of absence, he returned to the group in 2007. In addition to Raimundos, the musician has already played bass in other successful bands in Brazil, such as Detonautas and Rodox.
