Lewis Capaldi is considering giving up his music career due to Tourette’s syndrome

In an interview with The Times, the singer spoke about the health problem and the possibility of abandoning his career.

Hitmakers like “Someone You Loved” AND “Before You Go”, Louis Capaldi revealed that he considers quitting his music career due to Tourette’s syndrome, a nervous system disorder involving “repetitive movements or unwanted sounds (tics) that cannot be easily controlled”, according to the Mayo Clinic.

In a recent interview with The Times (via People), the star commented on her current health and said there’s a “very real possibility” that she could walk away from her career. “The syndrome has made performing live, my favorite part of the job, more challenging” said the 26-year-old singer.

My tic is getting worse on stage now. I’m trying to get over it. If I don’t make it, I’m screwed. It’s easier when I play guitar, but I hate playing guitar. I know, I’m a walking contradiction.”

The Scottish singer-songwriter was diagnosed with the syndrome last year after noticing his shoulder twitching frequently. In an Instagram Live, Lewis shared the health concern with fans. “The worst thing is, when I’m excited I get it, when I’m stressed I get it, when I’m happy I get it. It happens all the time,” he said of the involuntary spasms.

Some days it is more painful than others and some days it is less painful. It looks much worse than it is. It’s quite uncomfortable sometimes… But it comes and goes.”

It is worth mentioning that during a concert of the singer in February this year, he had a Tourette’s seizure while singing “Someone You Loved” and needed the audience’s help to continue with the presentation.
